Does Vicky Kaushal fear getting overshadowed in Karan Johar’s Takht? Here’s what he said

2018, unarguably, is Vicky Kaushal’s year. The actor has garnered a massive fan following after his stupendous performances in Raazi, Lust Stories and Sanju and is currently enjoying his feat in the professional sphere. And now, Vicky has more than one reason to celebrate especially after bagging a role in Karan Johar’s magnum opus Takht.

To be directed by Karan, Takht features an ensemble cast apart from Vicky - Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor. In an interview with a leading daily, Vicky admitted that he isn’t bothered about getting overshadowed in the film owing to its magnanimous cast.

"Aiming for longer screen time is superfluous. It is the story that will connect with the audience. I only ensure that I don't get slotted with a specific image," Vicky said.

During his interview, the 30-year-old actor added that Karan offered Takht to him while he was filming Uri in Serbia. The filmmaker had not even informed him about Takht while working on Lust Stories. Upon hearing the narration of Takht, Vicky was absolutely thrilled but also said that Karan wasn’t sure about the fact as to whether he would agree to star in the film on grounds of being cast as a character with grey shades.

"I was in Serbia, shooting for Uri, when I was called back to India for a narration. When Karan narrated the story, I was blown away. Later, over dinner, he told me he wasn't sure if I would take up the part. And my immediate reaction was, `Who says no to a Karan Johar passion project?' To be a part of his biggest film ever is overwhelming,” Vicky told the daily.
