If I am not seen in films, it is not that I am not getting offers: Raveena Tandon

Back in the 90's, Bollywood enjoyed its commercial status and delivered many hits that went on to be remembered as a cult. One of the noted names was of Raveena Tandon, who was a part of varied genres but performed with the same charisma. After a long hiatus, she returned on screen in 2017's Maatr. Post Maatr, she hasn't signed any projects and it seems that she isn't keen on signing one either. On the contrary, her contemporaries like Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla making their comeback with powerful characters.

Recently, Raveena spoke to a leading daily about her choice of films, hiatus, upcoming projects and more. Starting with films, she said, "I have been there, done that... When I was working a lot that time I gave my 100 per cent, then I had family and other things to do, so things do change. I want to live life. Films are part of my life, they are not my entire life. I am not interested to be seen on every Friday. Earlier I used to do 30 films in one go. At this stage, I have the luxury to choose what I want."

The actress is popularly remembered for her bold roles and many out-and-out commercial entertainers. However, that's not something she is looking forward to, anymore. "Everyone should age gracefully and do the kind of roles that you can do with dignity and respect. I was offered a couple of out-and-out comedy films like Chashme Baddoor and Kya Kool Hai Hum. But I will choose something that I am excited about. If I am not seen in films, it is not that I am not getting offers. I want to do something for which I will be remembered."

Raveena is remembered for her roles in films like Mohra, Dulhe Raja, Ankhiyon se Goli Maare, Andaz Apna Apna, Ladla, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, etc... Currently, she is busy with her passion project - saving the wildlife. The Government of Maharashtra has also chosen her as the brand ambassador for Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
