Kangana Ranaut is the reigning 'Queen' for last few years with her bold opinions, film choices and even fashion statements. She was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon alongside Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor and Hansal Mehta's Simran. However, both the films failed to impress many. Now, Kangy will be back with a bigger bang with her films lined up one after the other. And we’re sure the wait will be worth it!
Kangana is currently busy juggling multiple projects. But at the top of her list of priorities is the epic period film based on the life of Rani Laxmibai, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi directed by Krish. Alongside she is also filming for Prakash Kovalmudi’s Mental Hai Kya and has Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Panga and Anurag Basu’s Imali lined up. Talking about the hectic schedule she told a leading tabloid, “I was to start rehearsals for Panga in September and kick off Anurag’s film in November but Imali has now been pushed to next year because Manikarnika is a priority.”

The dedicated actress further added, “I even cancelled a five-six days schedule of Mental Hai Kya in Lonavala, Prakash was considerate in pushing it to a later date because we have to finish the patchwork on Manikarnika that has come up after the first edit because that film will release first. We underestimated the process every epic goes through.” Lately, rumours had it that she will wear the director’s hat for this patchwork shoot. This decision was said to be taken due to ill relations between the director and her.
Clearing the air around these rumours she said, “Not true, we speak every day. Krish has another release on January 11 and could give dates only after that. After unveiling the first poster on August 15, we had the choice of coming on Republic Day or Independence Day, 2019. We decided to push for the former. The writers want certain transitional scenes shot before the release; I’ve assured the studio I won’t leave Manikarnika even if it means rescheduling dates and sacrificing personal time.”
