Varun Dhawan is all set to share screen space with Anushka Sharma for the first time in Sharat Katariya's Sui Dhaaga: Made in India. The actor will play the role of lovable Mauji, a tailor in the much-anticipated film. Interestingly, to master the art of tailoring, Varun trained rigorously in the intricate processes of cutting and stitching fabrics for his role. Today, he took to Instagram to share a video of him as he learned for 3 months and wrote, "I can finally say I now know how to stitch."

In the video, Varun shares his journey and thanks Darshan (the costume designer) and Noor bhai (the tailor on the sets) for helping him. Considering Sharat wanted him to learn the art of stitching clothes in order to look convincing on screen, Varun gave himself three months to become proficient. "It wasn’t easy at all. It was frustrating because initially I wasn’t getting it right. The needle pierced by fingers multiple times. I’m so glad that I went through the drill because I have picked up a new skill in the process. It took me 3 months, sometimes 2 hours and sometimes 4 hours in each tailoring class to get the confidence that I could pull this off in front of camera. I felt it is my responsibility as an actor that I should come across convincing and I couldn’t break Sharat's trust on me. Today I’m very comfortable on the sewing machine and can make a lot of things like a shirt, trousers, pillowcases, etc," shared the actor.
In fact, Varun had recently put his newly-acquired skill to test when he stitched a shirt for his dad David Dhawan on the occasion of his birthday.

It reunites the National Award winning the writer-director-producer duo Sharat Kataria and Maneesh Sharma of Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame.
A film about finding love and respect through self-reliance, Yash Raj Films’ entertainer Sui Dhaaga - Made in India is set to release on September 28 this year, just before Gandhi Jayanti.
