Katrina Kaif is in Malta to begin shooting for her Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat opposite Salman Khan. The actress swooped in to claim her spot opposite her ex-flame in the film once original choice Priyanka Chopra opted out of the film citing personal reasons. Priyanka got engaged to American singer-actor Nick Jonas on Saturday. However, Katrina’s involvement in Bharat meant that her other projects were in trouble, considering she bailed out the project last minute. A leading daily reported that her dance film ABCD 3 with Varun Dhawan would be getting delayed due to Kat signing Bharat last minute. However, Varun has denied these claims and said that the film will start soon.
It was reported that Katrina’s dates are being reshuffled since she has signed on Bharat and will have to work around the dates already allocated to the two films she was supposed to be doing. According to reports in a leading daily, filming for the third installment of ABCD franchise was scheduled to go on floors later this year as Varun and Katrina had to undergo rigorous dance training because the film will be shot in 4DX format.
Amidst, reports of a delay in starting the shoot for the film, another daily reported Varun refuting these rumours and speculations and said that they will begin to shoot once he wraps up Karan Johar’s ambitious project Kalank. The daily also quoted him saying that Remo D’Souza who is directing the ABCD 3 is choreographing Kalank songs and hence will start shoot once he wraps the period film. Kalank also stars Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Kemmu. Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon have been roped in for special dance numbers.
Bharat is eyeing an Eid 2019 release while ABCD 3 is scheduled to hit theatres in November 2019.
