After winning hearts with their subtle comedy and adorable love story in 2014's Hasee Toh Phasee, actors Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra will return on the big screen with the same chemistry in Jabariya Jodi. The film was previously titled Shotgun Shaadi. It is directed by Prashant Singh, who has previously been a part of TV shows like Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and films like Ranjhaana, Tanu Weds Manu, Bas Ek Pal.

Sidharth shared not one but two posters on his Instagram handle introducing the lead duo and marking the start of their filming process. He wrote in the post, "Here are Abhay and Babli! An anokhi desi Jodi. Presenting Jabariya Jodi."

The first poster has the lead duo seated on a bench in the middle of a road that is surrounded with stalls named in a hilarious fashion like, "Chaineys" instead of Chinese, "Whatsapp Chowmein", "Murg Donalds" as a parody of Mc Donalds and "Fresh Moms" for Momos. Men and women on the street stare at them in shock as Parineeti a.k.a Babli drags Sidharth a.k.a Abhay towards her.

The second poster spells out comedy with its setting. It has an unconscious groom seated on a chair, majorly used in wedding, in a littered room suggesting that he has been abducted. Leaving everything aside, Babli and Abhay look at each other as Abhay is busy clicking a selfie.

Parineeti as Babli is a modern day urban women while Sidharth as Abhay is the perfect small town stud with his colourful outfits and the desi swag. Ekta Kapoor along with her mother Shobha Kapoor will be producing Jabariya Jodi under their home banner, Balaji Motion pictures.

For the uninitiated, Parineeti will be seen next in Namaste England along with Arjun Kapoor. Post this, she also has Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with the Arjun. Sidharth, on the other hand, will be seen in Vikram Batra biopic releasing in February next year.
