2018 is unarguably Ranbir Kapoor's year after the magnanimous response to Sanju considering the fact that the actor had been experiencing a rough patch prior to the release of the Rajkumar Hirani-directed film. But Ranbir doesn't regret signing either Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos or any other film of his that tanked at the box-office, he said during an interview to a leading entertainment website.
His answer, though, was in response to Sanju producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who recently deemed Ranbir's "choice of scripts" as "very stupid".
“I don’t agree with him (Chopra). That’s his point of view. I don’t regret (being a part of) any film that I have done (till date). Be it Bombay Velvet, Saawariya (2007) or Jagga Jasoos, they all came naturally from (within) me," Ranbir told the website.

Ranbir, in his career spanning over a decade, has witnessed several box-office turkeys including Besharam, Roy as well as Tamasha. Although his career graph rose subsequently after 2016's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir was back to square one with Jagga Jasoos' failure. He, nevertheless, admitted that these films will remain a "part of him" and a sense of attachment is what he endures with respect to them.
"They will always be a part of me. It’s like they are your children so yes, the successful ones are obviously there but it’s the failed ones that you will (always) be close to because you are always like, ‘why didn’t people love them?’ You always feel attached to them,” Ranbir added.
Well, Ranbir. That's the spirit.
With Sanju's success though, Ranbir hasn't been able to breathe a sigh of relief since he is in the midst of an arduous schedule with his several films lined up including Brahmastra, Shamshera and Luv Ranjan's film with Ajay Devgn.

Sanju, a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, cast Ranbir as the senior actor in the film co-starring Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Manisha Koirala among others. The film emerged as the biggest opener of 2018 as it made over Rs 300 crore at the box-office and impressed critics along with fans.
Ranbir Kapoor will be seen next in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. It is scheduled to release in 2019.
