Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a story about a commentary on power shortage in India and a common man’s struggle to address the problem of skyrocketing electricity bills. The story revolves around the electricity-related issues in rural areas and unfolds through three friends. It has been shot in a small town in Garhwal (Uttrakhand).

The trailer shows us the power of a common man and how Indians if United can solve every problem which comes their way. Shahid Kapoor (Vimal Bisht) plays the role of a lawyer along with Yami Gautam (Pia). Shraddha, on the other hand, plays the role of Vimal's lover and that serious girl next door. We see Vimal's struggle against the power distribution companies over exorbitant electricity bills and how he overcomes the problem. Sadly, what leads him to take up the fight is when is best friend Divyenndu commits suicide over the atrocities by Electricity department, issuing him a bill of whooping Rs 64 Lacs. The courtroom drama between Yami and Shahid is hard hitting with a dash of black humour.

Overall, after Shree's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, this one comes as another gripping film from the makers addressing a social issue which often gets lost in the dark...

It's time for more POWER!
