Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle Khanna have been married for 17 years and are going stronger with each passing year. Twinkle is known for her wit and sarcasm and manages to weather trolls with her trademark humour filled writing. However, Akshay is also not far behind and is well known to be a prankster on sets. As Khiladi Kumar started promoting his upcoming film Gold he sat for an interview with Rajeev Masand and cracked a joke at his wife Twinkle’s expense.
Rajeev asked Akshay whether he thinks that it was the right decision of Twinkle to take up to writing instead of continuing her acting career. Akshay in his trademark wit said, “Yes, looking at the 14 films that she has done, writing has been her best decision. I still remember when I was doing films with her before the shot was ready and the lighting was done, she used to just have a book and she used to keep on reading. There was a fruit plate beside her and she used to finish the entire fruit plate and keep on reading. She used to read one novel a day.” When Rajeev pressed him asking that that means Twinkle was not focused on her acting career, Akshay chuckled and bluntly said, “That’s right”.

Rajeev prodded Akshay further whether Twinkle is planning to don the producer’s hat once again after PadMan which was based on a short story that she wrote, and to this the actor responded, “My wife is very, very choosy, I don’t know what is in her head and right now she is busy with her new book." He further showered praises on his wife's third writing project and said, "I love the title of her book. I don’t read books but I do know the story of her next. I am one of those to whom she narrates the story as I can’t sit and read, I am into sports.”
Twinkle is gearing up for the release of her third book Pyjamas Are Forgiving. Knowing her great comebacks we are hoping that she does have some choicest words for hubby dearest’s comments on her acting skills. Twinkle has often commented on how she hated being in films and found it gratifying that she found a career in writing.
