Akshay Kumar on 2. 0 release: It's strange, I am being asked 'did you even shoot the film?'

Akshay Kumar is ready to take over the screens with his next, GOLD, directed by Reema Kagti. The film also features Mouni Roy and Amit Sadh. The team is currently out for the film's promotion, which means we have Akshay talking more about GOLD and his other upcoming projects.

In one such promotional interview, the actor talked about one of his most awaited films of the year -- 2. 0. The Rajinikanth starrer has him playing the role of an antagonist, and something which he hasn't played before. The film, directed by Shankar, has got a huge buzz around it. It's been deemed as the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema.

After postponing its releasing date three times, the makers of 2. 0 are finally getting it hit the theatres on November 29 this year. The wait has been long and Akshay is as desperate to end it as his fans are. In the interview recently, the actor mentioned it's strange for him to see his movie taking so long to release when his most films are ready within four months.

Akshay said, "My fingers are crossed. I just hope they release the film now. It is important. It's a beautiful film. I have myself not seen even a single frame. There's a lot in that film. It's (delay in the release) been strange not only for me, but for my fans as well. Somebody tweeted about it to me and wrote 'sir aapne shoot bhi kiya hai ya nahi' (sir, have you even shot for the film or not?)".

Apart from GOLD and 2. 0, the actor has got Housefull 4 releasing in October this year. Akshay says it's a totally different film from the other films in the franchise. He said, "This time it's completely different. This is like Sundi x 10. I was shooting in London and it was like a paid holiday. It was a great time".

On Mogul, the Gulshan Kumar biopic that he was supposed to work on, Akshay reiterated that he left the film because of script issues. He mentioned he was also facing some time management issues with the film and therefore, both he and the makers mutually decided to consider some other actor for the film.
