On legendary singer Mohammad Rafi’s death anniversary today, Anil Kapoor shared a small tribute to him in the form of a new song from his upcoming film Fanney Khan which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Pihu Sand, Satish Kaushik and Divya Dutta. In the trailer of the film, we already got to see that Anil’s character reveres Shammi Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi, now with the new rendition of the duo’s hit song Badan Pe Sitaare Lapete Hue the film pays a tribute to the late actor and singer.
Anil unveiled the song on social media with a heartfelt message for Rafi saying that they will never be able to match up to his talent but this is just a small way of showing their love for him. The song has been sung by the super talented Sonu Nigam who brings alive Rafi’s charismatic voice and style of singing in the track. The music for the number has been re-arranged by Amit Trivedi.

Anil is seen singing the song Badan Pe Sitaare Lapete Hue in a neighbourhood concert and with his unmatched energy and superb acting he certainly nails the act. The video shows the crowd enjoying the song immensely and clapping their hearts out to our very own Fanney Khan. Veteran actor Satish Kaushik is also seen in the crowd dancing to the number.
The song might be at a juncture in the film where we get to witness that the taxi driver Anil, still harbours his singing talent and tries to showcase it wherever possible. In a way, it is heartwarming and empathetic to see Anil singing and dancing to the song as many of us eventually take up different careers in life which is not at all similar to what we actually wanted to become.
Fanney Khan is the story that is based on the belief that a dream never dies. The film showcases the relationship between a father and daughter, and the father’s dream of seeing his daughter as a big singing sensation, something that he could never achieve.
