Ranbir and Alia are Juhi’s choice for starring in Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani remake

Juhi Chawla has been one of the most popular leading ladies of Bollywood. Her effervescent acting and bubbly demeanor have won over countless fans, she also holds a lot of respect in the industry. Two of her films recently completed two decades of their release. Her film Yes Boss opposite Shah Rukh Khan finished 21 years whereas Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke with Aamir Khan completed 25 years. When asked about the milestones she replied that she has never thought about these things and tweets something about them if her PRs tell her to do.

However, the actress is baffled that so many years have passed since her film's release. The actress was quoted by a leading daily, “To tell you truthfully, I haven’t watched 95 percent of my work. Maybe, I have seen a film once at a preview or in a theatre but never revisited them. For me, it’s a mixture of amazement and disbelief that I did all this work.”

When Juhi was asked whether she would like any of her films to be remade today considering remakes are the rage, she named Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani as the one which will be relevant to the contemporary times. She starred opposite Shah Rukh in the film and even co-produced it with the actor.

Juhi even has the lead star cast in mind for the film. She named Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt as her choice for the film’s leading role. Heaping praise on the actors who are in a romantic relationship currently, she said, “I recently saw Sanju (starring Ranbir) and Raazi (starring Alia) and both are a class apart. I would like them in Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani if it is ever remade.”

Talking about the film she said, “When we made the film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, the media was just beginning to explode, it was too early to talk about channel wars, TRPs, etc. There was so much behind-the-scenes politics, about politicians etc, that probably people didn’t get the nuances at that time. But it makes so much sense today, I think that film ought to be worked upon now.”
