Watch: Sunil Grover wishes to romance Salman Khan after Priyanka Chopra exits Bharat

You've been living under a rock if you are not aware of the hullabaloo caused after Priyanka Chopra made an exit from Salman Khan's Bharat. While certain reports suggested that the actress was unhappy with her role/remuneration, director Ali Abbas Zafar's tweet about Priyanka walking out of the project in the "nick of time" hinted at her alleged engagement with boyfriend Nick Jonas.

Now in an interesting twist of events, it is comedian-actor Sunil Grover who wishes to step into Priyanka's shoes and has applied for the role of Salman's heroine in the film. He posted a video on Twitter writing “Application for the vacancy from Nancy @aliabbaszafar @BeingSalmanKhan”.

In the video, the saree-clad Sunil cites reasons as to why he should be cast as the leading lady opposite Salman. He even makes a reference to Salman’s show Dus Ka Dum by asking that“Kitne pratishat bhartiya chahte hain ki main Bharat ki heroine banu?”

For the uninitiated, Sunil is already a part of Bharat but hilariously makes a case about his role elevation, per se. The filmmaker too couldn’t help reply to his video, and wrote, “Hahahahaha ..... you are mad @WhoSunilGrover ... be like this always ...love”

Meanwhile, a lot of names were in the offing for the female lead in Bharat. Now ending all speculations, the director has revealed to a leading daily that Katrina Kaif has been confirmed to play the lead in the film.

Besides Salman and Katrina, Bharat also stars Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Aasif Sheikh and Jackie Shroff. Disha and Salman have already started the shoot for Bharat, which is an official adaptation of a 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father. Salman plays a daredevil stunt motorcyclist whereas Disha plays a trapeze artist in the film. Bharat is slated to release on Eid 2019.
