Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor who is looking forward to the release of his upcoming courtroom drama Mulk that also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead recently gave an interview in which he once again took potshots at directors Anurag Kashyap and Anurag Basu. The actor who is well known for his outspoken and blunt personality once again blasted Kashyap and Basu for making commercially unsuccessful films that put his son Ranbir’s career in jeopardy.
In an interview to a leading portal, Rishi said, “It (Sanju) was a pretty good film, unlike both Velvet or Jagga. They were bad films. They were indulgent. Even Sanjay Leela Bhansali made Saawariya. I mean his forte is something else and he made something else. Anurag Kashyap (Bombay Velvet). You give him so much money; he literally didn't know what to do with it. Jagga Jasoos was such a bad film, such a bad story. It was absolutely rubbish. I questioned Ranbir about it and he said, 'Papa, the man who gave me Barfi, how could I question his... I thought he'd be responsible enough to know to keep the story at its point'".

Rishi has never minced words when it had come to Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos and even though Ranbir had tried to make peace with the directors and refrained from speaking any ill about them, his father has not exactly held back.
Only recently, Ranbir revealed in an interview that Rishi had fallen flat on Rajkumar Hirani’s mother’s feet after watching Lage Raho Munnabhai. Rishi had told Hirani’s mother that her son is a genius and he should work with Ranbir in the future. Later, Hirani signed Ranbir for Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju which has managed to create havoc at the box office and become one of the highest grossing films ever.
