Satyameva Jayate song Tajdar-e-Haram ft. John Abraham is gruesome yet gripping

John Abraham is all set to get the country roaring with pride with his upcoming film Satyameva Jayate. The film features Manoj Bajypayee, Amruta Khanvilkar and debutante Aisha Sharma in the lead roles. Earlier, in the last month, they released their first music video featuring Morrocan-Canadian actor-dancer Nora Fatehi in the revamped version of 1993’s hit song Dilbar. Now, they have released yet another song titled Tajdar-e-Haram.

The song works its magic in the background while the lead actor takes the center screen to do what he does best. The music video shows John in action, which the fans have been longing to watch on the big screen for long. However, the video contains extensive bloodshed and visuals that aren’t for the weakhearted. We see the protagonist, a vigilante in the film, beat the bad guys in an attempt to make the society corruption free.

For the unversed, the actor refused to use a body double for the self-flagellation sequence in the song. It was done to depict a ritual performed during Muharram. While filming the scene, he suffered multiple injuries which weren’t visible initially due to the make-up. Recollecting the four-day shoot in Wadala, director Milap Zaveri shared, "We had to use real knives because the audience would be able to tell the fake ones from the real. By the fourth take, John had suffered multiple cuts. It was only after we had canned the shot that he rushed to get medical help."

Popular music composer duo Sajid-Wajid has given a fresh tune to the song and Wajid has also sung it. It’s lyrics have been penned by lyricist Danish Sabri. Tajdar-e-Haram, as it is known is originally sung by Pakistani singer Atif Aslam for Coke Studio. However, the new version featuring in Satyameva Jayate is as good as an original composition and derives nothing from its previous counterpart.
