All of 21, Janhvi Kapoor symbolizes all things brave and beautiful. It is needless to mention that she has been blessed with gorgeous genes of late actress and her mother Sridevi, the courageous side only came to the forefront after her mumma left for heavenly abode following her sudden passing away due to accidental drowning. The young girl had just embarked on her professional journey with Dhadak and Sridevi was over the moon with the news of her little one’s Bollywood debut. Little did Janhvi know that she wouldn’t have her mom’s support and presence when her first film releases.
However, a brave Janhvi, who had never faced the world on her own until Sridevi’s sudden demise, decided to appear confident and prove herself. She turned it into a drive to make her parents as proud of her as she is of them. In a recent interview with a news agency, Janhvi revealed how her work helped her recuperate from the loss. She said:
“Yeah (it was tough), but I don’t want to feel sorry for myself. Now that I think about, if this had happened to someone else and I was told about it, I’d go, “poor thing”. But because I have lived it, there wasn’t even a second where I felt, “s**t, this is hard” or “I feel targeted”, because I was so blessed to be on that set every day. I was like, “thank god I have my work to come back to”. Otherwise there was no coming out of that. If I had to deal with people clicking pictures of me on set, I was like, “lene de yaar” (It doesn’t matter)”
Talking about sailing through the tough times with a smile, Janhvi quipped:
“It’s kind of like you are in an arena, on a podium. You are just standing there, watching people point fingers, judge and dissect you, but you have to keep a smile on your face and pretend to enjoy it the whole time. But getting the opportunity to do this film is more than I could ever have asked for, so you can put me on any podium in the world and I’ll take it.”
Janhvi is the elder daughter of late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. 13 days after the demise of her superstar mother, Janhvi resumed shooting for Dhadak, and completed the schedule like a thorough professional.
Dhadak is the official remake of Marathi superhit Sairat. The film has been directed by Shashank Khaitan and bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. It will release on July 20, 2018.
