Dhadak stars Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor spread Zingaat magic in Ahmedabad - watch video

Dhadak is the flamboyant and extremely colourful remake of the compact but Marathi superhit Sairat by Nagraj Manjule. While the redux appears more noisy and dramatic, the buzz around this Shashank Khaitan directorial is huge to put it simply. Also because it marks the debut of two of the most promising star-kids in today's times - Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter.

Ishaan's and Janhvi's sizzling on and off screen camaraderie is much to be blamed for the hype and excitement building up. Janhvi is the elder daughter of late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor while Ishaan is actor Shahid Kapoor's half-brother - their genetics and bloodline is big enough a reason for audience to flock theatres but the budding stars are nonetheless determined to make it on their own. Touring city by city, Ishaan and Janhvi are hell-bent on spreading the Zingaat magic. Don't go by what we say, here, sample this video of the gorgeous co-actors dancing their way to glory, in their fans' hearts:

Notably, it was during the shooting of this film that Janhvi lost her mother and veteran actress Sridevi after she succumbed to accidental drowning in her hotel room's bathtub in Dubai. However, a brave Janhvi, who had never faced the world on her own until Sridevi’s sudden demise, decided to appear confident and prove herself. She turned it into a drive to make her parents as proud of her as she is of them. Returning to the sets of Dhadak, Janhvi resumed shooting so that her maiden venture could keep its date in theatres. A thorough proof that she has rightly taken after her professional mommy!

In Dhadak, Ishaan plays Madhukar, a naive – innocent boy who falls head over heels in love with a girl named Parthavi played Janhvi Kapoor. Madhukar and Parthavi belong to two different strata of the society, and how their love overcomes all the odds follows the rest of the narrative.

The film releases on July 20, 2018.
