Only 20 minutes of screen time for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Fanney Khan?

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's next has her playing the character of a famous pop star, in Fanney Khan, which also features Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The trailer of the film was released recently and met with positive reviews. Aish was seen in a funny kidnapping scene in the trailer and a few other glimpses of her from the on stage performances were included in it. However, a daily has learnt that the actress doesn't have a lot of screen space in Fanney Khan. In fact, that very interesting scene with both Anil and Rajkummar could be just the only elaborated scene featuring her in the film.

As per a source in the daily, Aish was convinced with the script and showed no doubts playing her part when the film was offered to her by producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The actress was aware that Fanney Khan is the story of a girl who is body shamed and is discouraged to pursue singing, only to be supported by her father, played by Anil Kapoor. And that's exactly why she agreed to work on the project considering it as the story which is 'important to be told.'

The daily quoted a source saying, "Aishwarya has a short but interesting role in the movie. She’s barely in it for around 15-20 minutes, so it’s a special appearance. She shot for around 12-13 days with Anil and Rajkummar Rao. Two songs — a dance number and a love track — have been filmed on her'.

Earlier, talking about being part of Fanney Khan, the actress had told the same daily, "I’m doing Fanney Khan because I like the larger idea. There’s a girl who looks up to this pop star, who is played by me. But sometimes, when we idolise someone, we forget that they, too, are real people. We shouldn’t judge them for their appearance. It’s frivolous. It’s important for me to come out and speak about such issues".
