Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim start prep for Shonali Bose's 'The Sky is Pink'

Priyanka Chopra had recently revealed that she will play the lead in Shonali Bose’s directorial The Sky Is Pink, which is based on the story of Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker and an author of the book My Little Epiphanies who was born with an immune deficiency disorder and at 13 years of age was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. She later passed away at the age of 18. PeeCee will reunite with her Dil Dhadakne Do co-star Farhan Akhtar and the duo will play parents to Dangal girl Zaira Wasim, who is essaying the role of Aisha.

Priyanka joined Shonali and Zaira for the first workshops for the film. Next week, Farhan will also join the trio after he comes back from Europe. The film’s dialogues have been written by National Award-winning writer Juhi Chaturvedi.

The film is based on Aisha who faced life head-on even when diagnosed with a fatal condition. The young girl inspired many with her motivational and inspiring talks. She passed away on January 24, 2015, at the young age of 18 years.

As reported by a leading daily, the workshop will be concentrating on character building and script-reading sessions. The daily reported that the preparations will go on for a while after which the shooting dates will be finalized after taking the actors’ schedules. However, the shoot will most probably begin before Priyanka starts shooting for Salman Khan’s period drama Bharat.

The film is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Pritam has come onboard to provide music for the film. Shonali has already decided on the shooting locations. She said that the true story is very close to her heart and she is having a wonderful time at the workshops with her chosen actors.
