Post-Mumbai schedule, Shahid's 'Arjun Reddy' shoot to resume in Delhi and the reason is Mira

Shahid Kapoor’s next, Arjun Reddy, based on Vijay Deverakonda-starrer Telugu hit by the same name, will kickstart in Mumbai next month. Earlier, the second schedule of the film was based in Mangalore, however, the base has now been shifted to New Delhi and the reason is none other than the actor's wife Mira Rajput. The couple is expecting their second child in October when the second schedule of Arjun Reddy is also scheduled. As per a leading daily, Shahid, who doesn't want to be away from his wife when she delivers, will head for the Capital by mid-October to kick off the film’s second schedule after a short paternity break. As Mira’s parents live in Delhi, she will be able to accompany him then and stay with them for the duration of the month-long shoot.

Keeping the current affairs in mind, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently shortlisting some locations in Delhi while Shahid is also set to begin training for the action sequences in the next few days. The actor will shoot non-stop for the film and plans to wrap it by December in Mumbai.

For the unversed, Arjun Reddy's story is of a surgeon who is dealing with anger management issues and alcoholism post his ex-girlfriend ties the knot with someone else. Student of the Year 2 debutante Tara Sutaria will be seen as Shahid’s love interest.

Shahid, who will step into the shoes of Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda for the emotional drama, is confident it is going to be an amazing character to play. “I fell in love with the character the moment I saw it and I am quite nervous about it and excited at the same time. I’ve actually seen the film and loved both the lead actors and all the actors in the film; so there is this huge responsibility of a film that has achieved cult status and we want to make it as well if not better,” he said in a previous interview.

The film is produced by Murad Khetani and Ashwin Warde and was a blockbuster when released in South, last year August.
