Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty will make a quirky couple in 'Motichoor Chaknachoor'

Ace actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty are coming together for a film which is said to be a quirky wedding-comedy. The film’s title is also pretty novel. It is titled Motichoor Chaknachoor. It is all set to go on floors on September 23 and will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule. The film will be extensively shot in Lucknow. Apparently, Nawazuddin was really excited about the film and green-lighted the script in 15 minutes. He also requested the filmmakers to bring the film’s schedule forward so that he can wrap the film this year itself.

The film is being produced by Rajesh Bhatia and directed by debutant director Debamitra Hassan. Debamitra has extensive experience working in the television industry. Bhatia revealed to a leading daily that Debamitra has been working on the screenplay and dialogue for the last three years. As reported by the daily, Bhatia said, “My team and I were very impressed with this humorous story of an unlikely couple. There is a lot of situational comedy that plays out between the bride and the groom’s families and Nawaz playing the hero makes it all the more exciting.”

This is the first time Nawazuddin and Athiya are coming together for a film and their pairing is so unlikely as well as unique that we’re sure the film will be a must-watch. Athiya was last seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in Anees Bazmee’s Mubarakan that also starred Anil Kapoor. Athiya is supposed to undergo extensive training workshops for her dialect and accent as the film is set in Lucknow. Nawaz also will have to work with a language coach for the film.

The director of the film, Debamitra has impressed the producers so much that they have signed her for a three-film deal. Motichoor Chaknachoor will be the first film to be produced. The daily reported that the production house is looking to produce five films until 2019.
