Sushant Singh Rajput exits Chanda Mama Door Ke; to direct his own space film

Sushant Singh Rajput's unparalleled interest in the universe and other celestial bodies has him reaching for the moon, quite literally too but later on that. The actor is a self-acclaimed lover of space and astronomy, an emotion which often has him gazing at the stars and the blind side of the Earth through his advance telescope called the Meade 14” LX600. Rajput recently bought a piece of lunar land on the Moon, thereby becoming the first Bollywood actor to achieve the feat.

His curiosity towards the celestial sphere has taken him in the direction of making his own space film. However, Sushant, who was to star in India's first space drama Chanda Mama Door Ke alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has opted out of the movie citing date issues.  The Raabta star is working on his directorial skills for a space film in which he will also act.

Innsaei Ventures Pvt. Ltd - an amalgamation of Sushant's passion for emerging technologies and science and serial entrepreneur Varun Mathur's business acumen will fund the project. “Sushant’s passion for the Moon and space is second to none in this sphere. He has unparalleled interest to learn more about the universe, and to delve into anything that might help him understand this phenomenon further. However, since there was a lot of up and down in this film, Sushant will not be able give his dates to this project (Chanda Mama...) since he has his hands full with many projects.

Having said that, it does not mean we won’t be making a space film. Innsaei Ventures is quite keen on making a space film and Sushant will be working on this very soon. I extend my very best wishes to Mr Sanjay Puran Singh (the director of Chanda Mama...) and Mr Viki Rajani for this film. I hope it brings them great success,” Mathur was quoted as saying in a statement by a leading news agency.

Sushant has always been both enthralled and intrigued by space right since he was a little boy and was first exposed to this phenomena. Sushant visited NASA last year to train, the experience was so overwhelming that he decided to sponsor two of the smartest kids from Mumbai to visit the US Space and Rocket Research Center.

SSR, last seen in Raabta has wrapped up the shooting of Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath which marks the debut of Sara Ali Khan. He also has Son Chiriya, Drive and Aankhen 2  in his kitty.
