Ranveer Singh heaps praise on his Simmba director Rohit Shetty, calls him the 'King'

Ranveer Singh is well known for his infectious energy and charming persona. The actor is popular in the film fraternity for his sense of humour and affable attitude towards his colleagues. After sharing a quirky video with director Rohit Shetty from the sets of their forthcoming film Simmba a few days ago, Ranveer heaped praise on the director in an unusual way.

Ranveer recently shared a picture on his Instagram story which shows Rohit Shetty facing his back to the camera. The actor gave the director an emoticon crown and captioned the image as, “@itsrohitshetty”. In the image, Rohit is wearing his trademark cap but the word ‘successful’ is written on it and we can’t agree more, as the director’s Golmaal film franchise is one of the most successful in the industry and almost all his films have been big blockbusters.

Rohit’s favourite actor Ajay Devgn is supposed to make a cameo appearance in Simmba. He will apparently be seen in the climax scene of the film. The shooting of the film has already started in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and according to reports the film is supposed to be wackier and crazier than the Singham films directed by Shetty.

In Simmba Ranveer plays the role of a funny cop named Sangrama Bhalerao aka Simmba. Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan plays the female lead opposite Ranveer. The film is directed by Rohit and produced by Shetty and Karan Johar. The popular song Ladka Aankh Mare from the 1996 Bollywood film Tere Mere Sapne has been used in the film. The song was picturized on Arshad Warsi and Simran. Tere Mere Sapne starred Arshad Warsi, Chandrachur Singh, Simran and Priya Gill in lead roles. The film was produced by Amitabh Bachchan under his ABCL Corp. Ltd.

Besides, Rohit’s Simmba, Ranveer will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy opposite Alia Bhatt. He will also start shooting for Kapil Dev biopic ’83 which is helmed by Kabir Khan.
