Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3: Sanjay Dutt is so good at being bad

Jee Haan Main Hun Khalnayak... Ab Ban Gaya Hun Gangster!”, so tweeted Sanjay Dutt, sharing the first motion poster of his upcoming film, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3.

The dude sure puts the ‘Deadly’ in Dutt, sporting a velvet tuxedo, a menacing expression and a gun, but of course! Six glasses of beverage sit lined-up on the table in front of him, obviously playing a key role in the scheme of things.

Coming back to Sanjay’s tweet, we didn’t miss the reference to Khalnayak, the 1993 Indian Hindi action thriller film, produced and directed by Subhash Ghai. Dutt had played the role of dreaded terrorist, Ballu in the film, which portrayed his escape and attempted capture. It had been the fourth highest grossing Hindi film of the 90s decade. Dutt’s look in the film, complete with trademark vest, earring and deadly stare, is still iconic.

Dutt now returns to play the titular gangster in Tigmanshu Dhulia's upcoming film, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3. He has promised that the film will be three times more intense. The film also features Nafisa Ali, who will be seen playing the role of his mother in the film. The film will also bring together Kabir Bedi and Sanjay Dutt after a span of more than three decades. The actors were last seen together in Yalgaar. Though little is known about the plot, which has been firmly kept under the wraps, actors Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahi Gill and Chitrangada Singh also play pivotal roles in the film.

Sanjay Dutt has previously played the role of a gangster in films like Vaastav and Kaante among others, but we are piqued to see what the director has in store this time around. Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster series has combined a delicious mix of danger, passion and intrigue. While the original Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster, which released in 2011, featured Randeep Hooda, Mahie Gill and Jimmy Sheirgill in lead roles, the second installment featured Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan while Randeep Hooda's character was written out.
