Ever since the Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju has started making news the Kapoors and Dutts have been meeting more often. A couple of days ago pictures of Sanjay dropping by to meet Ranbir Kapoor’s dad Rishi Kapoor were doing the rounds. In the evening, reports came in that Ranbir and his current girlfriend Raazi actress Alia Bhatt were dining at Sanjay’s home, Imperial Heights in Pali Hill, Bandra.
The meetups between Ranbir and Sanjay might be on the part of former essaying the latter’s role in the Rajkumar Hirani directed biopic. On the other hand, Sanjay and Rishi met at the latter’s residence in Bandra. Speculations were rife on the agenda of their bonding. Now, reportedly news is coming in that Sanjay who is back with his latest production Prasthaanam put forward a request to Kapoor to do a qawwali in his home production. A leading lady reported that apparently, the 102 Not Out actor has given his assent and the dates of the shoot are being worked upon.

Rishi and Sanjay go a long time back so it is hardly surprising that the former agreed to do a guest appearance in the film that is being produced under Sanjay’s banner and handled by Maanayata Dutt. Prasthaanam stars Sanjay, Manisha Koirala and Ali Fazal in lead roles. On the other hand, Rishi is probably one of the best actors to do a qawwali song since he has already done quite a few hit numbers in his career. Some of his hit qawwali numbers are Hai Agar Dushman Zamana from Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, Parda Hai Parda from Amar Akbar Anthony and Shirdiwale Sai Baba from Amar Akbar Anthony and the more recent Shah Ka Rudba in Agneepath. Besides, this the actor has performed many other qawwali numbers in his films.
The Kapoors and Dutts share a mutual respect for each other and the families have known each other for years. Sanjay’s mother veteran actress Nargis Dutt worked in several hit movies under the RK Films’ banner and was the muse of Raj Kapoor. She later married Sunil Dutt. The relationship between the two families was further cemented when Ranbir was chosen to play the role of Sanjay in his biopic. Ranbir’s portrayal of Sanjay is getting accolades and acclaim from everywhere and is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
