Why the Nargis Dutt's death scene in Sanju is 'emotionally disturbing' for Ranbir Kapoor

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is being asked a lot of questions these days, about actor Sanjay Dutt's life. Reason: he is playing Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju and the promotions of the film are in full swing. During one such promotional interview with the media, the actor was asked to put light on the most emotional scene he has done in the movie.

Earlier as well, when he was asked the same question, he had mentioned that the most emotional scene from him, is the one from the premiere of Dutt's debut film, Rocky, when he has a conversation with his father, Sunil Dutt. Only this time though, the actor talked about the scene in detail. He elaborated, "There was one scene that really caught me emotionally. It was the day Sanju sir's mother died. At that time, Sunil Dutt had told Sanju to sit to stay in the hospital and look after her because he had some work. He was in the hospital for four, five days. He started doing a lot of heroine".

Ranbir added, "Then suddenly, one day she woke up, called him and talked to him. He saw her dying in front of his own eyes. This was three days before the premiere of his debut film, Rocky. She had said 'whether I am here or not, the premiere should happen.' Sanju and Dutt sa'ab had to attend the premiere three days after Nargis ji's death. And while it was happening, he ran out. He was hallucinating and shivering. Dutt sa'ab came out and asked him what happened. And he told him 'when mom died, she woke up and talked to me, but till today, I don't know whether she actually spoke to me or was I imagining all that due to drugs.' "

The actor called the situation that Sanjay Dutt faced 'disturbing.' He went on, "If you think about it now, it feels very disturbing. You don't know whether his mother died or talked to him before dying or what happened".

In the film, actress Manisha Koirala will be seen playing the character of Nargis Dutt. Ranbir also stated that Sanju is based on three things -- father-son relationship, true friendship and a question mark. He said the 'question mark' will only be revealed to the audience once they see the film, which is releasing on July 29.
