"Dhadak saved me": Janhvi’s revelation about dealing with her mother Sridevi's death is touching

At the recent trailer release of Dhadak, it was a mixed bag of emotions for a young debutante, Janhvi Kapoor. Excited and nervous about the impending release of her maiden film, she was emotional as she missed her mother, the late Sridevi's presence at this landmark occasion in her life. “I definitely miss her today. The biggest and most helpful tip she has given me is to work hard and to feel every emotion,” Janhvi had said at the unveiling.

Even as D-day nears, Janhvi’s nervousness grows as she realizes the significance of her debut film as the world waits to see if she can carry her mother’s legacy forward.
She has already showed considerable restraint and strength in the way she has handled the sudden demise of her mother. In fact, many were taken aback when she resumed filming Dhadak within a few weeks of Sridevi’s shocking death.

Speaking about coming to terms with her loss, Janvhi has shared that it was the shoot of Dhadak that gave her courage. “It hasn’t been an easy experience,” she says, adding, “My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn’t for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways,” she said, sounding wiser beyond her years.

Janhvi also shared Sridevi’s tip to her for being a good actor. “My mom always used to say that in order to be a good actor, you need to be a good person. Because the camera is very smart. If you’re not a good person, if you’re fake, it shows. If your heart is not clean, it is visible.”

Armed with this simple yet sound advice, is it any wonder that Janhvi has already won loads of hearts since the trailer released!
