India, as an independent nation, first won its Gold medal at the Olympics on August 12, 1948. Gold also marks the first time collaboration of Akshay Kumar and Excel Entertainment headed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. It is also the debut of television sensation Mouni Roy.

Also starring Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, Gold promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast. The teaser depicted the struggle for India’s first Gold as a free nation.
