Every one who has seen the trailer of Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju, is convinced that actor Ranbir Kapoor has done a good job playing Sanjay Dutt in the film. He has himself said that he got obsessed with Dutt while he was shooting the film.
In a recent group interview in Mumbai, Ranbir just elaborated on the same a bit more. He explained how he felt when he saw Sajay Dutt once on the sets of Sanju. He revealed, "I was scared to death when I saw him on the sets. We were shooting for the first scene, when a 60-year-old Sanjay Dutt is looking into the mirror and talking to himself. He was sitting behind the monitor and laughing. I was just busy observing him as he laughed, looked, moved his neck. I used to just make notes on my phone everytime I used to meet him. I got obsessed with him".
The Jagga Jasoos star also mentioned how Dutt's wife, Manyata always used to tell him that if ever there'll be a film made on Sanjay, only he's going to play the lead in it. Ranbir said, "We used to gym together and she (Manayata Dutt) always used to tell me 'Baba par jab bhi film banegi, tu hi karega...'. And Sanju sir used to make fun of me. I was doing Barfi then, and he used to say 'ye kaisi film kar raha hai, aaj Barfi ki hai, kal laddo, peda karega..."
Well, as they say things happen for good, we're glad we have Ranbir Kapoor playing the character of Sanjay Dutt in Sanju.
