“I will be the sexiest dad on the planet," confesses Salman Khan

It’s extremely rare to see the quantum of success that Salman Khan enjoys, but the megastar is reassuringly grounded about its fleeting nature. Ahead of his action-thriller Race 3 release next week, in a media interaction, the actor spoke about the importance of getting the action right in films. “It’s tricky…Action has to look genuine, believable…Physically also, it’s a lot of strain and hard work. If you don’t look the part, physically and end up doing unbelievable action, then people laugh at you,” he declared.

Talking about aging and its consequences, he mused, “As long as you can hold it, as long as you are getting in the Friday-Saturday-Sunday, you’re there. And when you can’t and somebody else is getting it, you take a backseat.” According to Bollywood’s biggest star, you give it a couple of more shots but then you find something else in another space altogether. “For me, I had started off with writing and direction, so I’ve got quite some time to go back onto that,” he declares.

So, will a time come when we see play the aging father like Aamir Khan did in Dangal? He perks up immediately, teasing, “You only want to see Aamir in that kind of role!” He also points out that Bharat will showcase him going from 27 years of age to 35 to 45 and 65. “But it’s not going to be an ‘old father’. That means I’m playing Anil Kapoor’s age and Anil Kapoor is fine!”

Salman further added, “Listen, I’m going to be the sexiest dad on this planet. I’ve already played dad onscreen in my past films. But do you think you will accept me as a father with grey hair?! *winks* I’m not sure about it.”

Bhaijaan also shared that after Bharat, he will do a Remo D’Souza film starring Daisy Shah and Jacqueline Fernandez, in which he plays father to an 8-year-old girl. This film will portray him as a mature father, strands of grey, et al.
