Madhavan celebrates birthday on the sets of Shah Rukh's-Anushka's Zero in New York

From an innocent-faced lover boy in Alaipayuthey to becoming every millennial girl's eternal crush in Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein - Madhavan Balaji Ranganathan ruined it for all the boys out there. Years after leaving us thirsty for that damned smile, R. Madhavan returned with the era of #Maddy4Daddy. Sixteen years into his career and the man still has us held captive under his ageless allure. On June 1, the former chocolate boy turned ripped hero took our...hormones cough on a joy ride cough once again! He turned 48 after all.

And while it was a delayed celebration for our dearest star, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma made it 'unforgettable' for Madhavan. He recently flew to New York to shoot for his cameo appearance in Aanand L. Rai's new movie Zero which stars SRK and Anushka along with Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Maddy took to Instagram, to once again delight us with his beauty, with an extra bonus.

Apparently, Rai has a soft spot for Madhavan and Jimmy Sheirgill, who had featured in his highly entertaining film series, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. And thus, had his faves brought in for Zero in small but interesting roles. The high-budget drama shall have guest appearances by a bevy of actors including the late Sridevi, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt.

The plotline of Zero revolves around the lives of three characters played by Shah Rukh, Katrina and Anushka, all of whom are struggling to make the best of their lives. In the film, Shah Rukh plays the role of a dwarf; Katrina plays an actress struggling with alcoholism while Anushka essays the role of a failed scientist.

On the film front, Madhavan had to opt out of Navdeep Singh's historical drama and from Rohit Shetty's action-packed Simmba due to his shoulder injury earlier this year.He is now gearing up for his next film, Chanda Mama Door Ke, a space adventure film which also stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
