Loveratri faces trouble; Hindu group annouces reward for thrashing Salman Khan

Salman Khan has found himself in a fresh controversy thanks to Hindu groups in parts of North India. These religious groups have been protesting against his forthcoming home production Loveratri that stars brother-in-law Aayush Sharma. The film is being produced under Salman’s banner Salman Khan Films production.

The Hindu group Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has problems with the name of the film. According to their claims, Loveratri is distorting the name of Navratri, one of the most important religious festivals of Hindus which is celebrated all over India with pomp and fervour. They have been trying to get the name changed. Another group Hindu Hi Aage has gone even a step further and announced a reward for anyone who would thrash Salman and asked for a ban on the release of the film.

They have also appealed to the Censor Board to ban the film from releasing. As per the usual protest rituals, the group set fire to posters of Salman’s films and raised a ruckus with slogans against the film Loveratri. This

Navratri is a nine-day festival that is celebrated twice in a year. The first Navratri is called Chaitra Navratri and celebrated during March-April. The last day of the festival ends with Ram Navami signifying the birth of Lord Rama. The second more popular version is celebrated during October-November where Lord Rama’s triumph over evil demon king Raavan, and Goddess Durga’s victory over demon Mahishasura is celebrated. The festival is marked with revelry across various parts of the country. Navratri means nine-nights and the festival worships nine avatars of Goddess Durga.

On the work front, Salman’s Race 3 is all set for release and will hit theatres on June 15, 2018. He will also be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat opposite Priyanka Chopra. Loveratri is said to be set in Gujarat and will be released on October 5, 2018.
