After Veere Di Wedding, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is expected to be seen in a Dharma Productions' film. The reports of her doing a movie directed by Raj Mehta have been floating in the media for a while now. And the latest update in the same news is that actor Akshay Kumar has been signed by the makers for the film which is yet to be titled.
Reported by a leading daily, both Akshay and Kareena are happy to be reuniting on screen after a gap of nine long years. While the two worked together in Brothers and Gabbar Is Back, this new film will have them featuring in full-fledged roles.
The report quoted a source saying, "The makers have roped in Akshay Kumar to play the male lead. The story is about two couples and they were looking for a senior actor opposite Bebo. Akshay was their first choice and he loved the script. He discussed the film with Karan, and the modalities were worked out immediately."
The publication further mentioned that the shooting of the film will begin later this year. "Filming begins in November, after Akshay wraps up work on Housefull 4. Bebo also wanted a few months break in between to spend time with her son Taimur. so, the team has worked out everything already," the reports quoted a source revealing.
The story of the film has two couples. While Akshay and Kareena are to play the senior couple, the casting of the younger couple still needs to be done. The story of the film, as reported by the newspaper, has the two stars playing a married couple who are trying to have a baby.
Akshay and Kareena's last movie together was Kambakkht Ishq, which released in 2009. They have worked together in many films including Bewafaa (2005), Ajnabee (2001), Aitraaz (2004) and Tashan (2008) among others.
