Irrfan Khan, Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar starrer Karwaan is all set to hit the theatres a week earlier on August 3,2018, than its initial release date. However, now the film will clash with Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Fanne Khan. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala in association with Ishka Films. Earlier the film was supposed to release on August 10, 2018, but now the filmmakers have decided to bring the release date earlier.
Karwaan is the Bollywood debut of Southern star Dulquer and internet sensation Mithila who gained fame from her web series Little Things and Girl in the City. The film revolves around three people from different walks of life who come together on a bizarre and unexpected journey. Akarsh Khurana has directed the film which is shot in the God’s own country, Kerala.

Talking about the film’s plot, Akarsh had previously told a daily, “Dulquer’s character Avinash is forced to take a trip from Bangalore to Kochi and asks his friend Shaukat (Irrfan) to accompany him. While Avinash is a reserved guy, Shaukat is a little old school with a humorous take on life. En route they pick up Mithila, a spunky teenager, and it’s about the trio from different walks of life coming together.” Akarsh has written the story of the film along with Adhir Bhat.
Ahead of his last release Blackmail, Irrfan had confirmed of being diagnosed with a rare disease. He has been diagnosed with a rare form of neuroendocrine tumor and has been under treatment since then. Speaking about the film, Mithila told a leading daily, “I went through the usual process of auditioning. I have auditioned for the casting director Nandini Shrikent earlier and knew director Akarsh Khurana as well. They suggested I try for this role as they thought I fit the bill. I had to wait a long time before I was told that I had bagged it. It was such a nervous and exciting wait for me! I had done a supporting role in Katti Batti but this is my debut as a lead in a Hindi film. To put it simply, it’s a big deal to have your face on a poster."
