Marriage of 20 long years between two popular supermodels of the fashion catwalk, Arjun Rampal, and Mehr Jessia, is finally and irreversibly over. Reportedly, the wedlock suffered severe blows and was struggling to keep up for quite a few years. But, it was their teenage
daughters Mahikaa and Myra, who kept the couple away from calling time on their marriage and reconciling each time.
Flashback to 2008, when Arjun heaped praises on his friend Sussanne Khan in a men's magazine. And if a report published in a leading tabloid is anything to go by, Rampal has been 'besotted' with Hrithik Roshan's ex-wife ever since. Further, Hrithik and Sussanne's separation came through in 2013, it was widely thought that Arjun and Sussanne were in a relationship and Mehr wanted herself out of the marriage. However, Khan had denied all such reports and clarified in a statement that there was no truth to the claim.
Flashforward to 2017, the daily further states in its report, Mehr and Arjun were trying to make it work, until...“Mehr had learnt that Arjun and Sussanne were still meeting secretly and were close friends. She was traumatised as she had believed Arjun when he said he was a changed man and that everything would be fine,” a source was quoted as saying by the tabloid.
Allegedly drowning in the sea of sadness after learning about the activities of her supposed 'changed man', a heartbroken Mehr had to be once escorted back home from Mount Mary church where she was a frequent visitor, the daily reports. She had even stormed out of Fardeen Khan's party last year after a heated exchange with Sussanne.
The Rampals, who married in 1998, used to scorch the ramp at fashion events in Mumbai and Delhi. At a time when Bollywood is celebrating a season of starry weddings, this news comes as a shock to many. Although the close friends of the couple say it was only a matter of time. Was it Sussanne who spelled doom, or was it the bond that couldn't stand the test after 20 long years?
