Fans will have to wait a little longer to see Aishwarya and Abhishek on the silver screen again

The husband and wife duo, i.e. Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who have appeared together in a staggering eight films were expected to share the silver screen again for Priya Mishra's cop drama. However, looks like the stars aren't aligned for the duo yet.

In an unfortunate turn of events, the couple, despite holding several meetings with the writer and director, wasn't happy with the final script and therefore, decided to pass it on. The film, inspired by real-life incidents, was a tale about two cops set in UP who find love in the crime-infested state.

The duo despite using varying degrees of commercial success has always managed to stun the audience with their electrifying chemistry. The two initially came together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke but the film tanked at the box office following their next, Kuch Naa Kaho which too failed to impress the audience. However, the tunes from both these films were hummed by all generations.

Though Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did not have a full-fledged role in Bunty Aur Babli, her item song Kajra Re went on to become a musical phenomenon. It was until Guru that the two were looked upon as a power couple in the film fraternity.

Currently, on the work front, Abhishek is filming for Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal while Aishwarya will soon be seen in Fanne Khan alongside Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.

The actress has also been roped in for the remake of Raat Aur Din. Informing a leading daily, she said, “I’ve been approached for the remake of Raat Aur Din, which is a great opportunity and what’s funny is while filming Shabd, Sanju Sir (Sanjay Dutt) said he’d have loved for me to play the part, and I was very touched. We’re still working out the details." Aishwarya has also been approached for the remake of Woh Kaun Thi?
