Neetu made her debut as a lead actress with the film Rickshawala in 1973 and appeared in 50 films from 1973 to 1983 as the main lead. However, she left the industry after her marriage to Rishi Kapoor, her co-star from many films and a scion of the legendary Kapoor family. She made her comeback in a cameo appearance in Imtiaz Ali’s film Love Aaj Kal in 2009 that starred Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. She also starred opposite husband Rishi in Do Dooni Chaar and Besharam that also starred her son Ranbir Kapoor.
