The IPL excitement is soon to reach a climax. Star India, the official broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is using its entire network to drive viewership of the final match of the T20 tournament on May 27. While the final match, to be played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, will be aired across 17 channels in eight languages, there is also more fun in store before it begins.
The broadcast network has planned a special IPL finale prelude programme on Star Plus, called “Cricket finals... party toh banti hai”. This segment will bring together celebrities from Bollywood, cricket and the television industry. The two-hour show, to be aired at 5 pm just before the live broadcast of the final match, will be hosted by actor Ranbir Kapoor, with dance performances and interactions with celebrities.

No party can be complete without the heartiest party-maker of them all - Salman Khan. It is learnt that Race 3 hotties Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez will host one segment on cricket in which the superstar will talk about his love for the sport and how he often plays the game at his Panvel farmhouse. Salman is also touted to share details about his favourite players and who he supports. Of course, what’s a party without some booty-shaking and the pair will dance to their latest song ‘Hiriye…’ from their upcoming thriller. Anil Kapoor, too, will join the duo.
It is learnt that John Abraham will also be a part of the event, promoting his upcoming film, Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran. The hunky actor-producer will be discussing the ‘bad and good boys of cricket'. Kareena Kapoor will also be amping up the oomph factor as she performs to a medley of hits. Young television actors of Star Plus such as Ravi Dubey and Mariyam will also be adding to the excitement.
Star Pravah will also host a similar IPL finale special prelude show to be hosted by actor Madhuri Dixit Nene and Swapnil Joshi, interacting with celebrities from the Marathi entertainment industry.
