Veere Di Wedding: Veere song shows how a rock-solid bond can seesaw into a life support system

If you were born in the 90s, you have probably been fed on a diet of The Sex And The City, Confessions of a Shopaholic with some How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Ugly Truth on the side. And while our prolific Hind film industry, the Bollywood, has had a variety of romantic, comedy, horror and even thriller films - a bonafide chick flick in the mainstream genre remained pending till Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor joined forces to bring to life - Veere Di Wedding.

In the words of Rebecca Traister, "Female friendship has been the bedrock of women’s lives for as long as there have been women." Living by this statement, four best friends, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania are each other's everything even in nothing. The film's trailer was an out and out celebration of female friendships. But it required a Veere to bring out the chick splendour in these enticing girls, who just want to have fun throughout the song.

Depicting a feisty show of fraternity leaving no holes for jealousy and malicy, Veere shows exactly why they say, men may come and go but girlfriends are forever. Ticking off all the boxes of the much in vogue notions of feminism and empowerment - the Veere squad drinks, smokes, hits the strip clubs, swear, carry a license to kill with their plunging neckline and sultry skirts, laugh till their stomach hurts and care like this is the end of the world!

Veere Di Wedding marks Kareena's first film post pregnancy and her comeback after giving birth to an extremely adorable boy Taimur Ali Khan has only contributed to the hype around the 'I AM NOT A CHICK FLICK.' The film has been directed Shashank Ghosh and is slated to release on June 1, 2018. It is mention worthy that the film clashes with Sonam's brother Harshvardhan Kapoor's second release - Bhavesh Joshi.
