Now Harshvardhan’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero will clash with his sister Sonam’s Veere Di Wedding and it’s awkward

It will no longer be a clash between John Abraham’s Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Harshvardhan Kapoor’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. While Bhavesh Joshi was always scheduled for a May 25 release, once the legal issue between John and producer KriArj Entertainment had been sorted out, Parmanu too was prepped for release on the same date.

This was a worrying situation as it is a well-documented fact that films hitting the box office on the same day invariably cut into each other’s business. In the case of Bhavesh Joshi it was additionally worrying as the film stars Harshvardhan Kapoor, whose debut film Mirziyaan had failed to set the box office on fire. Despite being the son of Anil Kapoor, the young lad is yet to make a name for himself in the 'you’re-only-as-good-as-your-last-release' world of Hindi films.

Now it emerges that the makers of the superhero film have decided to change its release date, allowing Parmanu an open run at the box office on May 25. The release date of the film has been postponed by a week. It will arrive in theatres on June 1. However, while this is a purely business decision taken by producers Phantom, it has created a very awkward personal situation for Harshvardhan… His film will now directly clash with sister Sonam’s Veere Di Wedding!

The makers of Bhavesh Joshi have confirmed the news of the film’s changed release date on Twitter. However, there is yet to be a public reaction from either Harshavardhan or Sonam regarding the unexpected collision of their respective films on June 1.

This news, coming soon after Sonam’s wedding, adds an additional sense of awkwardness to the scenario. Veere Di Wedding not only stars Harsh’s sister Sonam, it is being co-produced by his other sister Rhea Kapoor. His family had a personal stake in the film, and obviously, the Kapoor family cannot be too thrilled about the reworked date of his film. Life is strange!
