Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra are all set to reunite on the silver screen for Shotgun Shaadi. The duo had previously worked in Hasee Toh Phasee. Shotgun Shaadi is based on the issue of groom kidnapping in Bihar. The film is the directorial debut of Prashant Singh and is produced by Ekta Kapoor. Shraddha Kapoor was being considered for the female lead for the film but the actress backed out just days before her name was to be announced for the film.

Shraddha had previously worked with Sidharth in Ek Villain and was being considered to team up again with the actor for Shotgun Shaadi. However, she was not convinced about the script of the film and decided to give it a miss. It was also reported that she had asked for some changes in the script. Shraddha’s choice seems to be a questionable one as Shotgun Shaadi is considered as one of the bigger films that are being made and could have given her the necessary push that she needed to get back in the A-list.

However, to no avail, the project has apparently landed in Parineeti’s lap, who we are sure will do full justice to the role. Although there is no confirmation as yet from the actress’s end but the grapevine reports that Sidharth and Parineeti will team up again for the film. Sidharth has already started getting training to learn Bhojpuri from a dialect coach so that he can get the nuances of the language right. He is playing the role of a thug who kidnaps men and forcefully gets them married and hence is undergoing training to gain weight and get a toned look. Parineeti has Namastey England opposite Arjun Kapoor and Kesari opposite Akshay Kumar. Sidharth will be seen in the biopic based on Captain Vikram Batra. Meanwhile, Shraddha has Saaho starring Prabhas on the floors.
