Poet, tramp, gentleman: Ranveer channels Chaplin and we are entranced

We can stare at these images for hours… Ranveer Singh with his myriad expressions channelling the legendary Charlie Chaplin is just incredible. The actor headed to Switzerland after wrapping up the shoot of Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The first Indian ambassador for Switzerland Tourism, he is doing whatever it takes to build interest in the beautiful land, besides having himself a blast. That is so typically Ranveer Singh, isn’t it?!

On a visit to the Charlie Chaplin museum in Switzerland, he also shot a brief video. The ever-energetic actor made the video look effortless as he went black and white to enact an age-old comedy, which still never fails to amuse. Titled ‘Life is a balancing act’, Ranveer strives to find balance as he performs in the video.

Sharing images of the shoot, Ranveer wrote, “A tramp, a gentleman, a poet, a dreamer, a lonely fellow, always hopeful of romance and adventure.” - Charlie Chaplin #ChaplinsWorld #inLOVEwithSWITZERLAND.” Truth be told, we feel this description pretty much sums up Ranveer himself. He is all those wonderful things, except maybe for the ‘lonely fellow’ part!

He has been sharing a series of quotes of Charlie Chaplin as well, the English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer of the silent film era. Chaplin was also a deep thinker and his unforgettable icon, the Tramp, is one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry.

Having himself a ball in Switzerland, Ranveer also inaugurated a train that has been named after him. Flagging off the 'Ranveer on Tour' train, he raved, “The 'Ranveer on Tour' train does not just transport, but an unforgettable journey that takes you on a panoramic journey of Switzerland. Looking through the huge panoramic windows of the train is a feast for the eyes as you drink in the beautiful views of tall mountains, green valleys and endless vineyards. I still remember being completely mesmerized on my first train ride last summer and I hope all our esteemed travellers enjoy this incredible ride as much as I did.”
