According to rumour mills, the teaser of the Sanjay Dutt biopic titled Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead would be launched on April 24, 2018. The biopic is one of the most awaited and anticipated releases of the year and the makers of the film are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to launch the first look at a theatre in the presence of press.

In a novel move the makers are combining cricket and films – the two major obsessions of Indian masses, for the movie. They are aiming to release the first look of the film on Tuesday at the T20 IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The first look will be played in the run-up to the scheduled game of Indian Premier League 2018. The producers of the biopic, Fox Star Studios, have almost made the deal to launch the teaser on pre-T20 show, Cricket Live, which airs on Star Sports.
A source close to the film said that the filmmakers are also looking at the possibility of launching the teaser at Wankhede Stadium which is the venue of the match in front of the spectators. The teaser would be unveiled by Hirani, Dutt and Kapoor. A formal approval regarding the same has been sought and the process is under way.

If this plan comes to pass then Ranbir, Sanjay and Rajkumar will speak at length about the film on the talk show. The source said, “The 30-minute chat will be moderated by Hirani. While Ranbir will talk about slipping into the character and the challenges they faced while shooting, Sanjay will speak about how he was surprised to see Ranbir's transformation. Hirani will also shed light on how difficult it was to pen an engrossing script, especially since Sanjay's life has been widely covered by the press. The officials at Fox Star have already started a dialogue with the channel for this. The idea is to ensure that the teaser reaches as many people across the country as possible, which explains the launch on the cricket pitch as well.”
The sneak peek of the teaser will also be attached to the Hollywood film Avengers: Infinity War after its digital release on April 24, 2018. The Hollywood flick hits theater on April 27, 2018. Other than the teaser, the makers are also planning on releasing a series of video snippets in the next few weeks as a run-up to the final launch trailer. The Sanjay Dutt biopic features Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal and is scheduled to released on June 29, 2018.
