Careful Salman! Priyanka Chopra is our "#DesiGirl forever"

Priyanka Chopra may be dominating the world at the moment with her quintessential roles as either Alex Parish in ABC's Quantico or as Victoria Leeds in Baywatch but the actress surely hasn't forgotten her roots. And Peecee's proved it yet once again why she will always be our "Desi girl".

The director, Ali Abbas Zafar recently confirmed the leading lady of his upcoming film Bharat starring Salman Khan. He said, “Bharat is Priyanka’s homecoming to Bollywood after having proved herself as a performer in a global TV show, Quantico, and in Hollywood. Bharat is rooted in India and its culture, spans over seven decades and travels across the world. Priyanka is the biggest Indian artist globally today and a perfect fit for the film as she brings to the table her incredible talent and international appeal.”

Sharing the same screen space after 10 years, being the gentleman that he is, Salman welcomed his co-star, however, he made a jest at Piggy Chops international prominence. He wrote, "#Bharat .. welcomes u back home @priyankachopra . See u soon .. By the way humari film Hindi hai ;) . @atulreellife @aliabbaszafar #Eid2019"

After Salman, it was Ali Abbas Zafar who took a jibe at the Quantico actor as he tweeted, “Swagat hai aapka @priyankachopra #Bharat ki mitti aur hawa ko apka intezaar hai ;).”

Bharat, which is all set to be shot in various parts of the world including Spain and Abu Dhabi, will hit the theatres on Eid 2019. The film is an official adaptation of 2014 Korean film Ode to My Father, which depicted modern Korean history from the 1950s to the present day through the life of an ordinary man.
