There’s no messing with Swara Bhaskar… even if you don’t directly mess with her. This fiery beauty will hunt you down and cut you to size! She did this yet again, rushing to her Veere Di Wedding co-actress Kareena Kapoor Khan’s defence.
The Veere girls Kareena, Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar had come out in support of demanding justice for the child victim in the Kathua rape case. The images shared on April 14 showed all the three stars holding up placards with the message, “I am Hindustan. I am Ashamed. #JusticeDorOurChild. 8 years old. Gangraped. Murdered in ‘Devi’- Sthaan Temple #Kathua.”
As Kareena is not on social media, Swara made sure she shared Bebo’s picture on her social media pages. However, amidst the support that came in were some rather nasty reactions to the campaign. While the trollers were quick to get to work, one particular hater went a tad too far in his ridicule of Kareena… He commented on Swara’s post… “She should be ashamed of the fact that despite being a Hindu, she is married to a Muslim. Has a child with him and named him Taimur, after a brutal Islamic barbarian.”

Naturally, Swara wasn’t going to let this slip away without proper discipline! She lashed out in response, writing, “You should be ashamed you exist. That God gave you a brain which you chose to fill with hate and a mouth you chose to spew filth from. You are a shame on India and Hindus. That shits like you feel emboldened to talk this crap publicly is this govt.’s legacy.”
Swara has repeatedly proved that she is not afraid to stick her neck out when it comes to her beliefs. While she was staunch in her support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat whose release was sought to be hijacked by right-wing radicals, she didn’t shy away from criticising the jauhar scene in the film. In an open letter, she had reacted to Rani Padmavati’s act of committing herself to fire to protect her honour, writing, “Women have the right to live, despite being raped sir. Women have the right to live, despite the death of their husbands, male ‘protectors’, ‘owners’, ‘controllers of their sexuality’… Women are not only walking talking vaginas.”
