Salman Blackbuck Case: Race 3 makers cancel South Africa schedule, to shoot in Leh

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who was convicted with a five-year jail term in the blackbuck poaching case was granted bail on April 7, 2018, by the Jodhpur court but that has not eased the trouble for the makers of Race 3. Salman Khan has resumed shooting for Race 3 which also stars Jacquline Fernandez, however, the foreign leg of the shooting which was supposed to happen in South Africa had to be cancelled as the actor is barred from travelling abroad by the Jodhpur Court.

The Race film franchise is known for shooting its scenes in- breathtaking foreign locales but looks like the producers and directors of the movie will have to be content with shooting in India if they want to complete the film and release on time. According to a report in a leading daily, Race 3 makers had to change their final shoot schedule from South Africa to India and have decided on Leh and Ladakh.

The director of the movie, Remo D’Souza spoke about the reschedule to a leading daily, “We were scouting for locations, and finally decided on Leh and Ladakh. It's going to be a week-long shoot during which we will film a song." However, this is not the only change in the shooting schedule. Previously, after the South Africa schedule there was supposed to be a Mumbai shooting schedule but in order to save time the makers are finishing the Mumbai schedule first. The Leh shooting will commence at the end of April.

Race 3 is the third film in the action-thriller franchise which was started by the director duo Abbas-Mustan. Other than Salman the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Salem and Freddy Daruwala. The film is scheduled to release on June 15, 2018, during the festive occasion of Eid. The film is being produced by RameshTaurani and Salman’s mother Salma Khan.
