Alia Bhatt is a big girl now… Which means, it will be a working birthday for her as she turns 25, filming Dharma Productions’ Brahmastra in Bulgaria.

There won’t be a big splashy party-sharty on March 15, as team Brahmastra are thick in the middle of shooting the action-adventure. It being a hectic schedule, she cannot afford to take time out to celebrate.
However, her close clique, including co-star Ranbir Kapoor and director Ayan Mukerji, are sure to put together a special little celebration on set. After all, B-town’s darling doesn’t turn 25 every day!

Alia will only celebrate with her near and dear ones once she returns to Mumbai by the end of the month. Her mother Soni Razdan informs that she, dad Mahesh Bhatt and sister Shaheen do not have plans to fly down to Bulgaria to join Alia on her special day. “No we won’t be going to Bulgaria,” Soni has confirmed.
Alia’s mentor Karan Johar won’t be going either. The filmmaker had earlier planned to make a quick trip to Bulgaria to bring in Alia’s big day. However, he dropped the idea as his mother, Hiroo, turns 75 on Sunday. Karan is planning a huge bash to celebrate his mother’s milestone birthday. The 10 hour-flight to Bulgaria each way would have made things a tad too tiring for Johar.
Alia’s 25th is quite a departure from her birthday last year, which was spent in Mumbai, as she promoted her film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. She had gifted herself a new cat, Edward Bhatt too while rumoured beau, Sidharth Malhotra was always close at hand. The two have since called off their relationship.

Incidentally, Alia and her Brahmastra co-star, Ranbir are supposed to be rather smitten by each other now. Alia had long since confessed to having the “biggest crush” on Ranbir. What’s more, they had even spent New Year’s together as they flew with Ayan Mukerji for a recce to Bulgaria.
Guess Alia might not really miss the big celebration, after all!
