Ranveer dedicates award to late Sridevi and all that happened at HHOF18

At the Hello Hall of Fame Awards 2018, Ranveer Singh was awarded ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award. But surprising the attendees, he dedicated the honour to late actress Sridevi, winning himself a thunderous applause.

Sridevi passed away on the night of February 24 in a hotel room in Dubai. She is survived by her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor. The Kapoor family was in Chennai on Sunday, March 11, evening to attend the prayer meet kept in the honour of the late actress.

Much to everyone's surprise, Ranveer had the honour to hand over the 'Cinematic Icon of the Year Award' to the veteran actress Rekha.

Interestingly, while Shah Rukh did not win any award, he made sure to be present as his better half Gauri received Excellence in Design Award, who was handed over the trophy by her BFF Karan Johar.

Another winner of the night, Deepika Padukone spoke about her Piku co-star Irrfan's health which has been under the scanner for a while. The actress was to reunite with him in Vishal Bhardwaj's next. However, now the project has been delayed. "Like he has requested, there are times when people just need to be left alone for sometime and figure their lives out. And I think we should respect that space that he has requested for. Like we said, let’s hope for the best," shared Dippy, teary-eyed.

The star-studded night was attended by the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Deepika Padukone, Mira Rajput sans hubby Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, Kriti Sanon, Rajkumar Rao and others.
