Masaba Gupta shared a picture on her social networking handle recently and it has taken social media by storm. The picture has Masaba posing with her very famous dad Vivian Richards and mom Neena Gupta.
Posting the picture Masaba wrote, "I’ts been a bit astonishing, how short life can be .. which is why I dropped every single ‘important’ thing I was doing to come surprise my dad on his birthday today & even had an impromptu family reunion. Missing the husband, though. Happy birthday , dad - I’m really trying to make this emotional , but you’re 66 now & still can’t send a whatsapp & think a smartphone is the devil incarnate. Slow."
Neena Gupta had once spoken about Masaba's dad, West Indian cricket icon Vivian Richards and his relationship with Masaba saying, "Masaba knew everything as she started understanding things. She was told the truth. We talked about everything. We are the ‘normalest’ people we know. No wonder we don’t have many friends."
Masaba has always been close to her dad and keeps visiting him.
Apparently, they also go on family vacations together.
She had once said, "My father was as involved as he could be. He was busy, but called me every day. He knew what was happening in school, and even came for my tennis matches. Till today, he calls when he can. But he is not intrusive. He doesn’t even have a cellphone! So if he reads something somewhere, he will call and talk about it. He is just that way."

About her mom Masaba had said, "Just the fact that she had me at all is such an inspiration. She never became bitter, despite what was said. There were no tears in this house. And that made her a great mother."
