Shoojit Sircar’s latest, October has been making a buzz for quite some time now. The film is said to explore a whole new shade of love with Varun Dhawan and debutante Binita Sadhu in the lead roles.

Shoojit, who is best known to keep his shots real and authentic, has apparently asked his hero to survive on the bare minimum of sleep. This call was taken by him to enable the actor to deliver his best, as the scene demands. The director said, “Yes I usually do this with many of my actors, used this during PINK as well. A couple of scenes with Varun required extensive emotional burst-outs, a performance that showed him quite exhausted... depth and weight in his overall demeanour and eyes, coupled with a tired voice, so I asked him to not sleep at night prior to the scenes.”

For a few scenes, the director wanted Varun to look sombre without any makeup. During the course of the shoot, the actor had to spend a week without sleeping or sleeping for an hour or two at the most to be able to bring out a certain look.  And without any hesitation, he agreed to it; to translate the director’s vision on screen.

Varun shared that the film is very close to his heart when the teaser was first launched. He also added, “I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da’s work and have always wanted to work with him. October is a beautiful story in which I play a character with many layers. It’s a difficult character to play. I just want to surrender to my part and show people a new side of me,”

The trailer for October is slated to release next week. Produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar of A Rising Sun Films Production the film is set to release on April 13, 2018.
